Arborjet announces an expanded role for one of it’s veteran tree care professionals

Joe Aiken, Regional Technical Manager for the Great Lakes region and Canada. Aiken has 30-plus years experience in the tree care industry. “Joe Aiken has provided valuable insight to help guide a diverse set of clients with their plant health care decisions. He shares the belief and goal of tree preservation, and the importance of educating others on the benefit of environmentally sustainable solutions for maintaining and caring for the world’s urban forests,” said Russ Davis Arborjet President and COO.

Aiken has worked in all phases of tree care, both as a licensed applicator and an ISA certified arborist. He routinely conducts product seminars and presentations on various treatment methods, which are attended by arborists, city foresters, plant health care technicians, master gardeners, university extension agents, grounds departments, and research personnel.

He will continue with this work as the official Arborjet University Liaison – identifying the universities that are impactful in setting procedure and policy around trees/shrubs/pests, and working to develop relationships, trials, guest speaker opportunities, and instructional and training opportunities. Aiken has a long standing relationship with many institutions across the country, including Michigan State University.

Aiken will continue to support Arborjet’s research department, co-operating with universities, to assist with tree injections on research sites, and other aspects of research required to aide in the development of equipment and formulations needed to control today’s invasive pests. This will include research in the field to set up trials, complete and review trials and assess results accordingly.

Aiken’s expanded role will also include:

  • Distributor Training – working with Regional Technical Managers to identify locations that need training, including scheduled training sessions for industry groups and new customers across a wide range of subjects.
  • Ecologel Distribution and Trials – work on conducting trials, and photographing before and after sites to better establish the overall potential of Ecologel and Hydretain® products throughout the market place.

Joe Aiken is a proud founding member of the Arboriculture Society of the Michigan Foundation and Curator of the Arboriculture Historical Society. He joined the Arborjet team in 2001.
